The Curse called ‘D’

That day,
she cut her veins open
And stared at the naked blood run down her wrist.
She watched her life,
Gradually turning nebulous
The memories, she treasured the most
The people, whom she held tight
The promises, she thought, she will never break
The bucket list, which she had never finished
The dreams, which only she had
The talks, that made her flutter
The secrets, which she never revealed
And the regrets, which she felt the most
Trickled through her hand
and pooled around her semi-conscious body
As all these emotions withered
She looked in the mirror, one last time
and was petrified to see a girl
Wanting to live again.
But it was too late
She had emptied herself.
